1. Start with your use case
Will you spray only your own farm, or run a custom-hiring business? Own-farm users often prefer a compact, affordable drone; service providers benefit from larger tanks and fast battery swaps.
2. Tank capacity & coverage
Larger tanks mean fewer refills but heavier drones and pricier batteries. Ask for realistic acres-per-hour in field conditions, not just maximum figures.
3. Certification
Check the drone has the required type certificate and can be registered on Digital Sky.
4. Batteries & charging
Count how many batteries you need for a working day and the charger/generator required — this is a big part of total cost.
5. Precision features
Terrain-following radar, RTK, obstacle sensing and centrifugal nozzles improve accuracy and safety.
6. Service & spares
Local service support, spare availability and turnaround time matter more than small spec differences in peak season.
7. Financing & subsidy
